Growing into his Own

Growing into his Own Joshua turned 10 last March. When people ask me how old he is it never fails for me to say: “His 7″. Then I hear him saying: “Mom I am 10, how many times do I have to tell you” or I’ll remember half way through the conversation, and have to correct myself. I guess I am in MAYOR denial. Joshua is growing so quickly he truly beats to his own drum. He is one of the most carefree people I know. He loves life. I wish some of him would rub off on me. He defiantly has his own style both his brother (The Skater Dude) and his sister ( The Fashionista) disagree with his...

James & Jamie {Engagement}

James & Jamie {Engagement} James and Jamie are just one of those couples that were meant to be.  They “get” each other in every way. Jamie has been in love with James since she was a young girl. Their families used to joke that there should be an arranged marriage. Jamie has always thought that James was her knight, and she was going to marry him! Being friends came easy to both. But their friendship blossomed naturally, into what they have today, a match made in heaven. They both have an infectious laughter and a care free way about them. James...

Ron & Wendy + Kiddos

Ron & Wendy tied the knot on February 16, 2012. Wendy had asked me to do a session a few weeks after the wedding, since they wanted to have memories of this very special time in their life. With two beautiful children she decided on a family/couple session. Ron and Wendy gave up on love a long time ago. When they both met, they decided that friendship is much more important.  Especially since they were living in two different states. The first few times they got together they had fun at the park, watching movies and just hanging out. But there was definately new feelings brewing in the...

Looking for something special……….look UP!

Beauty is everywhere you look especially when you’re looking UP. God really created something special when he made the Sun, Moon, Stars and the Sky. Its almost like having our very own masterpiece we can adore each and every day. The best part is, it will always be unique….. no day will ever look the same. Guess HE really did know what he was doing when he created the world. These are just snap shots I took. The sunset is literally out of the car window. The rainbow was from the back deck. I am going to have to actually spend some quality time on a sunset or rainbow...

The simple THING’s in life :)

The simple THING’s in life :) As a mother I love taking pictures of my own kids especially when I am not having to force them to smile, pose or even better be close to each other. Last weekend we went to the Avenue here in Murfreesboro and the kids had a great time being together and themselves. I caught a few shots of them goofing off and just having a plain good time. It makes my heart smile to see them like this because now that we have 2 teenagers we have more mood swings and “I don’t want to” at this time in our life. I know that this will change in their 20′s but I relish the opportunity to...

The Dunn Family Portrait Session

The Dunn Family Portrait Session Dunn Family Photo-shoot On November 25th, the day after Thanksgiving, when everyone is still in a Turkey-Coma, we did a photo-session with the Dunn family. The Dunn’s are from Capron, Virginia and were visiting with us for the Holiday. We left in the morning to Lynchburg, for a Jack Daniel’s tour. Anyone that comes to visits us gets the Paxson-Lynchburg tour. Its fun, free, educational and everyone always has a great time. So, if your looking for something to do, Lynchburg is always a great idea. After lunch and getting back to Murfreesboro we decided to stop at Cannonsburg...

Trying a little HDR plus some cool weeds :)

Trying a little HDR plus some cool weeds :) I had just finished work around 1pm and went outside. While talking on the phone, I looked up and thought “wow these clouds are so beautiful”, and the colors of fall are just so amazing. Our back yard isn’t much to look at but just after our property line we have the field with the woods behind them. I thought why not shoot an image of the “back 40′s”. But instead of JUST taking a picture I decided that I wanted to try HDR. So this is my first HDR image. Although I have much to learn I do like the colors and how it turned out. If you are good at HDR and...

Devin’s Paxson’s Fall Pictures

Devin’s Paxson’s Fall Pictures I have been totally slacking. I wanted to get these done last week but just did not have enough time in the day. So today after work although the weather wasn’t great for pictures with all the harsh but wonderful sunlight we went out. The one thing about Devin is that no matter what kind of mood you are in this boy can make you smile and even better laugh and your entire day is turned around. I promised him I wouldn’t post some of “The Poses” but man do I have myself a ham. We had a really great day. Even ended up at the park and the best part is he told me whom he...

Amanda Paxson’s Fall Pictures

Amanda Paxson’s Fall Pictures I have 3 beautiful children and I usually do their fall pictures together. It was fall picture time at school, which means its time to go out and take some pictures of the kiddos, since I really dislike paying for school pictures that turn out crummy most of the time anyway. This year instead of taking ALL 3 kids out at the same time I decided to make it “Mommy and Me” time. Amanda wanted to be first………. We had a fun time looking for places to take pictures.  We even saw a huge snake sliding across the road in the country. It was seriously so BIG that I decided...

Fly, fly, fly away………

Fly, fly, fly away……… The other day I felt the need to take pictures, so I pulled out my handy dandy D700 and started driving around. It was a bright blue sunny sky day and I knew I wasn’t going to be shooting any landscape shots. After finding nothing, and an hour to spare before the kiddos got off the bus, I decided to stop at Barfield Park. There are always critters moving around by the wilderness station or bugs crawling around in the flower beds. Here are a few of the little guys I caught. I wish I had a little more time to get even better shots but aren’t they just the coolest...

My Partner in Crime

My Partner in Crime I love driving around discovering cool new places to shoot and explore. During school breaks one of the kids usually comes along just to see where we end up at. Now that everyone is back to school my partner is back taking her righteous place. Sassy loves going with me and exploring. She gets so angry with me when I find a subject and leave her in the car for a few minutes. She is always wanting to be right beside me. Here she is patiently waiting for me to get back in the car and find our next destination. Love my little partner =)

Robin and her two adorable son’s Noah and Andrew.

Robin and her two adorable son’s Noah and Andrew. I had the pleasure of shooting a fun filled photo session last Sunday with Robyn and her two adorable young boys Noah and Andrew. Robyn is the most loving adorable mom. Her affection for the boys was so heart warming and so easily  to see. The boys were so much fun and we all had a great time. We watched and chased after some ducks, investigated and played and just had a great time. We even saw the sunset which was gorgeous that evening.

Finally Falling in Love with my 85mm 1.4

Finally Falling in Love with my 85mm 1.4 When I first started becoming serious in photography, I had to choose a few lenses that I thought would work well with what I wanted to get out of it. Lenses can get expensive and this is one that was not cheap. I did a ton of research and also talked to another photographer that I adore and decided to bite the bullet and buy the 85mm 1.4.  When I first  started using it I thought it was a great lens but I couldn’t understand why everyone was so in love with it. NOW I finally got it…..I finally understand what everyone else was talking about. I had to buy a new camera to REALLY...

Blown Away Dandelion

Blown Away Dandelion I do not know why I am so fascinated with these beautiful plants. Maybe because they morph from a pretty little yellow flower to a beautiful seed head that you can blow into the wind. I find them the prettiest in their seed form. I started reading about them and even came to a bigger discovery that you can actually eat them. Isn’t that something? =)) I am sure many know this but I did not. It’s just so cool that there are so many different types of plants that are growing in the back yard that you could actually use while preparing a meal. Here is another picture I took recently....

Paxson Photography’s New Website is up and running.

Hey Everyone, We finally got our new website up.  I would love to hear what everyone thinks. Aaron and I worked together to  get this baby up and running. I learned a ton through him. I have a awesome husband. =)) Can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks.
